Node.js is a demanding development environment for web applications that grants extensive permissions to manipulate system services. In a shared web hosting environment Node.js is unavailable, because the necessary root permissions are missing. If you want to use Node.js, you will need to lease a virtual private server (vserver, VPS) or dedicated server with root access. Currently Bitpalace offers neither.
Node.js is not required for any popular software like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, all popular shop systems and bulleting boards. Neither do most of self-made homepages need it. It is simply an unnecessary gimmick.
