Solution

The high stability and speed of the Bitpalast® webspace results from optimal configured web server settings of the Apache backend and Nginx frontend server. Bitpalast® recommends keeping the default settings unchanged. Only in very rare exceptional cases changes lead to improvements. Almost always changes only lead to deterioration and mistakes.

The httpd.conf file cannot be edited directly. You can, however, add or change some of your own settings with the "Apache & nginx Settings" icon, for example

  • MIME Types
  • handler
  • IP blocks
  • IP block exceptions
  • Names of index files and their order
  • Expires header
  • Additional header entries

Make these entries only if you know exactly what you are doing. Do not create super-special designs because you want to create something special. The default settings are proven best practice configurations by millions and since decades. The farther you deviate from the preset, the worse your webspace will work for you.
