Symptom

When you open a subdomain of your website that does not exist a Bitpalace website is delivered instead.

Cause

If you have not configured a matching subdomain in your web server, the web server does not know how to process a request for a non-existent domain. Instead it will load the default page of the host computer. This default page is a redirect to a Bitpalace website. The web server cannot access your customer account and does not know that you might have a main domain to the subdomain that suits better to respond to the request. You must let the web server know.

Solution

You can determine yourself what the web server shall do if it receives a request for a non-existent subdomain. Simply create a wildcard subdomain “*” for that purpose, e.g.

*.[main domain].[tld]

You can create a website fort hat wildcard subdomain or configure a redirect to another domain. Now all requests to subdomains that you did not explicitely configure will be served by the website of your choice.
