Symptom
When you visit your website on your Apple Mac, you experience a particularly long loading time. On other computers, however, the website loads fast as usual.
Cause
Your system's DNS cache holds an outdated IP address. The correct address will only be used after a long timeout.
Solution
Delete the DNS cache. Search for the term "terminal" in Spotlight and run the terminal program.
If you are using OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard or older, enter:
sudo dscacheutil -flushcache
If you are using OSX Lion or later, enter: <(p>
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
